Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

The figures are based on the Tax Administration>s records of tax revenue and refunds. Figures for years before 2021 also include late-payment charges and refund interest. Instructions for reading the statistics (available in Finnish and Swedish, link to Finnish) Excise duties and car tax, the collection of which was transferred from Customs to the Tax Administration in 2017, are not included in the gross revenue and refunds for the years 2017-2020 or for January 2021, but they are included in the net revenue. Because of this, the difference between gross revenue and refunds is not equal to the net revenue recorded for 2017-2020 and January 2021.
