Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.
Select the data you want from the selection boxes. In the end, press the “Show table” button. User instructions.

The recorded vehicles are distributed over different months based on the date of the car tax decision. The data contains only initial tax decisions, and accordingly, possible changes through tax review are not included. Due to changes in the Tax Administration´s data system, the statistics for 2021 do not take into account car tax decisions generated in January 2021. Peak times in the processing of car tax returns may have an impact on the statistics for different years. The age of the vehicle is calculated as the difference between the year when the car tax decision was issued and the vehicle´s first year of use. Information on age is not available for all vehicles. Therefore, the calculation of the average age only takes into account such vehicles for which the age information was available. To examine the average CO2 value, you must select the desired test procedure under the 'Emission class' classifier. Then the average CO2 value indicates the average emissions in accordance with a specific test procedure. Classifiers: - Vehicle category
o Passenger cars belonging to the 'Passenger car' category
o Vans belong to the 'Van' category
o Motorcycles, motorcycles with sidecars and three-wheelers belong to the 'Motorcycle' category
o The 'Other' category consists of vehicles that do not belong to any of the other vehicle categories. Such vehicles include for example buses and four-wheelers
- Driving power #o Vehicles that are powered by petrol, petrol/electricity or petrol/ethanol belong to the 'Petrol' category. Note: only hybrids that are charged by their internal combustion engine belong to this category. Hybrids that are plugged into an electric power source belong to the 'Plug-in hybrid' category #o Vehicles that are powered by diesel or diesel/electricity belong to the 'Diesel' category. Note: only hybrids that are charged by their internal combustion engine belong to this category. Hybrids that are plugged into an electric power source belong to the 'Plug-in hybrid' category #o Vehicles that are powered by natural gas, petrol/natural gas or diesel/natural gas belong to the 'Gas' category #o Vehicles that are powered by electricity belong to the 'Electricity' category #o Vehicles that are powered by hydrogen belong to the >Hydrogen> category
o Hybrids that are plugged into an electric power source belong to the 'Plug-in hybrid' category
- Newness - Emission class
Vehicles have been categorised into the following top-level emission classes:
1.1 CO2 value based on WLTP test procedure. Vehicles that are powered by electricity belong also to this category
1.2 CO2 value based on NEDC test procedure or another measurement method
1.3. Calculated CO2 value. This class includes vehicles whose CO2 value is based on the gross vehicle mass
1.4 The 'Other' category consists of vehicles that do not belong to any of the other emission class categories
A more specific emission class categorisation is available for classes 1.1 and 1.2
Emission standards specify the average CO2 value for vehicles belonging to classes 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3
Non-display rules: Whenever a group consists of only 1 observation, the quantity and the euro amounts relating to that group are hidden. In addition, the second smallest group is also normally hidden although it may consist of more than 1 observation. The software application that determines non-display will minimize the quantity of hidden cells. For this reason, it may sometimes hide other cells than the second-smallest one. However, the classifiers Other classes have not been hidden, and no secondary non-displays are affected by Other classes. Inquiries:
