Comments on the source data The statistics on different types of income are based on annual third-party information, submitted by employers, other payers, and payers of social benefits. For this reason, the statistics are preliminary. Comprehensive statistics on the final taxation of individuals' income taxes from the previous year are released in November. At that point, the data includes tax returns from taxpayers and other additional information. The statistics only comprise the earned income that has been subject to withholding. No deductions from the income are made. The details for 2014 are from final taxation from November 2015, and therefore they are different from the preliminary statistics published a year ago. It is required of employers, banks and other third parties that they submit annual information every year on their own initiative. This way, the Tax Administration receives a lot of third-party data on the amounts of taxable income paid to individuals. The way of defining domiciles of spouses was changed on 29 April 2016 and therefore all data on municipalities differ slightly from previous statistics, where spouses with different domiciles were falsely both interpreted as living in the municipality of the elder spouse. Change percentages:
For consolidated municipalities, change percentages are calculated in proportion to the sum total of municipalities' amounts from the previous tax year.
